Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is indicated in adults and children for the treatment of a cold sore which is an infection caused by the herpes simplex virus
Stages of the virus
After the itchy, tingly stage, the site of the cold sore gradually develops into a blister or a small group of blisters, surrounded by red and swollen skin.
After a day or so these burst to produce the typical open sore.
Like a sore anywhere on your body, these sores gradually dry up and form a crusty scab, which is usually a yellow-brown colour.
The sore gradually heals.
The scab falls off over a few days and should completely disappear after around 10 days, or faster with the use of Zovirax Cold Sore Cream.
The area may be a bit swollen for few days.

How to use:
Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.Apply the cream liberally to completely cover the whole of the affected area. Apply to the affected area five times a day at approximately 4 hourly intervals for four days. If your cold sore has not healed after this time, you can use the cream for up to 10 days in total. See the enclosed leaflet for further details. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you know that your immune system is weakened.

Acyclovir Creamhas a very low and low molecular weight. It is a female sex steroid hormone. It is used for the treatment of herpes labialis, shingles (herpes simplex virus), herpes zoster infections, genital herpes, and cold sores. It is used to treat painful sores in children.
Zovirax Creamhas no such effect in humans. It is not known when it should be used in animals. It is very rarely and should be used only if absolutely necessary.
Zovirax Cream - Dosage

Gisainesis a cold sore treatment used with valaciclovir to prevent cold sores from growing. It is used in children to prevent sores from growing and to treat painful sores.
Dosage and AdministrationThe dosage is based on the indication of use and the patient's tolerance. The lower dosage is recommended for children and adults. It is usually taken once daily at the same time every day.
